The 2019 Kern County Science Fair will be held at the Rabobank Arena on March 12, 2019. Pictures taken at the 2018 Fair are posted on the Kern County Science Foundation Facebook Photo Page. The California State Science Fair will be held on April 29-30, 2019, at the California Science Center in Los Angeles, CA. More information is now available on their website: http://cssf.usc.edu//. A "Mentor Night" in Bakersfield will be held March 21st for Kern participants interested in receiving ideas from local experts.
The 2019 Math Field Day will be held Saturday, April 27th at Liberty High School, 925 Jewetta Ave, Bakersfield. Contact Leeanne Stevens (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information. There is also valuable information on the KCSOS website under the tab, Math Field Day.
Tech Trek is a science and math camp designed to develop interest, excitement, and self-confidence in young women who will enter eighth grade in the fall. It features hands-on activities in math, science, and related fields. All sleeping, eating, instructional, and recreational facilities are located on a university campus where camps are held. Tech Trek is a project of AAUW California (American Association of University Women).
2019 Kern County STEMPOSIUM will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2019 from 9am to 2pm, at the Kern County Fairgrounds. The Kern County STEMposium brings students, businesses, and the community together to share information on “all things STEM.”
Think “science fair meets job fair,” where high school students will demonstrate their innovative STEM projects, while businesses display equipment and demonstrate skills needed to be successful in the workplace.
Physics Olympics is sponsored by the Kern High School District and supported in part by the Kern County Science Foundation. The 2019 Physics Olympics will be held at Bakersfield College..
